Quick Summary
Learn how to send and receive encrypted messages with the ONS Secure feature.
ONS Secure is an end-to-end encrypted messaging system that allows you to share sensitive content securely.
What is ONS Secure?
ONS Secure offers an additional security layer beyond standard email encryption. Your messages can only be read through a private link that only the recipient can access. The message is automatically destroyed after a certain period of time.
How It Works
- Log in to your ONS Mail account.
- Click "ONS Secure" in the left menu.
- Write your secure message.
- Optionally set a password.
- Choose the message validity period (between 1 hour and 30 days).
- Click "Create Secure Link".
- Share the generated link with the recipient.
What Does the Recipient Do?
The recipient does not need to have an ONS Mail account. The link can be opened in any browser. If you protected the message with a password, you need to convey the password to the recipient through a separate channel.
Security Features
Messages are stored encrypted on the server.
Each message can only be read once (optional).
After the specified period, the message is permanently deleted.
With the destruction counter, you can find out if the recipient has read the message.
